QNX Software Systems’ QNX CAR 2 application platform is a pre-integrated software stack for car infotainment that leverages the power of HTML5 on a software foundation. HTML5 works across all mobile development platforms, enabling connected and customizable infotainment systems. Developers can re-skin entire user interfaces and can blend HTML5 applications with those created with Qt, OpenGL ES, and other user interface technologies on the same display at the same time, allowing automakers to respond to shifting customer tastes and expectations. The QNX CAR 2 application platform includes an enhanced WebKit-based engine that supports audio and video, geo-location, WebSockets, offline applications, session storage, canvas, and other standards. Optimizations include pixel-accurate zooming and high-performance panning for maps and navigation as well as physics-based scrolling.
